He has been employed since 2003 as an advisor to the management of KD Group, and since November 2011 also as an advisor to the Management Board of the insurer Adriatic Slovenica. In 2013, he was a member of the Management Board of the insurer KD Življenje, and after the merger of KD Življenje's insurance business into Adriatic Slovenica, he returned to the role of advisor to the Management Board of Adriatic Slovenica, where, from 1 January 2016 onwards, he also held the key function of compliance officer. On 17 April 2019, he took up his term of office as a member of the Board of Directors of KD Group, and on 1 September 2019 he took up the role of Chief Executive Officer of KD Group. He was reappointed as a member of the Board of Directors and as Executive Director effective 19 November 2025, for a four-year term of office.
He holds a master's degree; he graduated from the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana in 1991, and in 2000 obtained a master's degree in business management and organisation (finance track), also from the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana. In 1992, he joined the Ministry of Finance as secretary of the then Securities and Exchange Commission, and when the Securities Market Agency was established in 1994, he became head of the licensing department. He held various roles at the Agency until 2003, most recently, from November 1999, as Assistant Director and Head of the Securities Market Sector. He has served on several supervisory boards (Gorenje, companies abroad) and is a member of the Supervisory Board of Deželna banka Slovenije.
